How to Get a Scholarship Abroad

Are you looking for a higher education scholarship or grant in a new country? That challenge is as provocative and energy boosting like any other- it is never too early, never too late when you really want it! But do you have what it takes to translate your dream into reality?

1. THINK PURPOSE Thinking what a great difference higher education will make into your professional life and earnings, you should be aware that planning is the first step on your way to success. Don’t be just a boat without direction in an ocean of endless and complicated possibilities, linger less and figure out more rapidly what is your specific purpose and scholarship field, find out the eligibility requirements and how you can meet them. Arm yourself with patience and perseverance, analyze the key issues to be taken into account before applying for the scholarship and prove your determination and potential in your own scholarship race: on your marks, get set… go!!

2. TIMING IS EVERYTHING Nobody is waiting for you, not even your own life: getting a scholarship is, after all, a selection that involves prestigious institutions, performance and competitiveness, other candidates are in the game and they’re aiming for the same thing as you are. Find out what could be really useful and interesting to you and don’t forget timing. The earlier you prepare, the better the chances that you will obtain the desired scholarship.

3. DO YOUR RESEARCH The process of planning and research for a scholarship should be done one year in advance before attending the educational program. That way you’ll gain extensive knowledge about the scholarship that best matches your interests and qualifications, selection criteria, necessary financial resources: tuition, travel and living costs, text books, computer software and other supplementary expenditures.

4. APPLICATION Applying online saves you time and needs no processing. Fill out with your real data and information, otherwise, if awarded the scholarship, they could discover the fabrications and you’ll lose the scholarship anyways! Be as complete as possible in your resume and don’t forget how much some good recommendation letters could add to your resume. Be realistic, relevant and convincing! Assuming you are in front of the selection committee, try to define a strong and realistic motivation for your application, specify extra activities with relation to the wanted scholarship and seek to distinguish yourself from the other candidates by adding a touch of your own style and unique personality. These being said, get ready and confident for your scholarship success and.. chin-chin!

Have any of you got a scholarship lately and where? Please share a tip on how to get there. Cheers!
